Communities In Schools of Tennessee Appoints New CEO

Updated: Sep 6, 2023

Meet the new CEO of CIS-TN

Friends,

I wanted to share some exciting news with you first: Meredith Benton has joined Communities In Schools of Tennessee as our new CEO.

We are so thrilled to have her on board. You may know Meredith from her time with The Healing Trust, a private health foundation based in Nashville, and she has also worked for the State of Tennessee. Her experience working with public officials, funders, and nonprofits across the state will be an enormous asset to CIS and the students and families we serve.

She has hit the ground running, and I know is looking forward to connecting in person. A terrific chance to say hello will be next month at our annual fundraising breakfast, which will start at 7:30 am on Thursday, Sept. 21 at 14Tenn. We hope to see you there; if you haven’t already, please RSVP here.

In the meantime, please join us in welcoming Meredith to CIS. You can reach her directly at mbenton@cistn.org.

Back to school season is in full swing, and we are looking forward to a great year ahead. Thank you, as always, for your continued support of CIS and our students - we can't do it without you.

Sincerely,

Tara Scarlett

Board Chair, Communities In Schools of Tennessee
